In vitro antioxidant activity of stem bark of Trichilia catigua Adr. Juss.
Antioxidant activity of the ethanolic extract and fractions from the stem bark of T. catigua was investigated. IC₅₀ (for DPPH scavenging) by T. catigua varied from 9.17 ± 0.63 to 76.42 ± 5.87 mg mL⁻¹ and total phenolic content varied from 345.63 ± 41.08 to 601.27 ± 42.59 mg GAE g⁻¹ of dry extract. Fe²⁺-induced lipid peroxidation was significantly reduced by the ethanolic extract and fractions. ...
متن کاملTwo epimeric flavalignans from Trichilia catigua (Meliaceae) with antimicrobial activity.
A mixture of flavalignan cinchonains Ia and Ib was isolated from the bark of Trichilia catigua. The structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic data of the natural products and their methylated derivatives including 2D NMR experiments, and compared with data in the literature. These flavalignans exhibited antibacterial activity against Bacillus
متن کاملAntinociceptive Activity of Trichilia catigua Hydroalcoholic Extract: New Evidence on Its Dopaminergic Effects
Trichilia catigua is a native plant of Brazil; its barks are used by some local pharmaceutical companies to prepare tonic drinks, such as Catuama. The present study was addressed to evaluate the effects of T. catigua hydroalcoholic extract in mouse nociception behavioral models, and to evaluate the possible mechanisms involved in its actions. Male Swiss mice were submitted to hot-plate, writhin...

Activity-directed isolation of the ethyl acetate, methylene chloride and n-hexane fractions of Gloiopeltis furcata resulted in the isolation of 18 compounds. Their structures were elucidated as 2-(3-hydroxy-5-oxotetrahydrofuran-3-yl)acetic acid (1), glutaric acid (2), succinic acid (3), nicotinic acid (4), (E)-4-hydroxyhex-2-enoic acid (5), cholesterol (6), 7-hydroxycholesterol (7), uridine (8)...
متن کاملContribution to the Study of Phytosterols and Phenolics from the Barks and Leaves of the Trichilia Catigua A. Juss., Meliaceae
Trichilia catigua is a Brazilian native species known as “catuaba”. This study investigated the chromatographic features hydroalcoholic extracts that were obtained by different techniques, from barks and leaves. The chromatographic analysis has demonstrated the presence of chlorogenic acid, epicathechin and cathechin, as well as the presence of β-sitosterol and stigmasterol in both analyzed pla...
